Workdays are where most of the labor happens. Clearing, hauling, stripping back, cleaning up behind the trades, and the hundred small jobs that keep a restoration moving. Bring gloves and boots and we will show you the rest.
We need hands.
There is more work in this house than a board can do on its own. Some of it takes a trade and some of it just takes showing up. If you can swing a hammer, or want to learn, we would be glad of you.

Where we need you.
Four things that would help right now.
Bring a trade
Carpenters, masons, roofers, electricians, plumbers, and anyone who has worked on an old building before. Hand hewn log work is its own trade, and we would far rather learn it from people who already know it than guess at it.
Give
Every gift goes into the house and the ground around it. Materials, labor, and the professional work the restoration needs. There is no paid staff and very little overhead.
Photographs and papers
The photographic record of this house is thinner than it should be. If your family holds pictures, letters or deeds touching the house or the families in it, we would be glad to hear from you, and we return anything you lend us.
Membership
Join the Friends.
Membership runs the calendar year, January through December. It is the steadiest money the house gets, and it is what lets us plan further ahead than one season at a time.
