What we collect, and what we do not.
This site is built to be plain in every respect, including this one. It sets no cookies, it runs no analytics, and it does not track you from page to page. What follows is the whole of it.
01 · Reading this site
Nothing is asked of you.
You can read every page here without giving us anything. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting. Nothing is stored in your browser.
Our host keeps ordinary web server records of requests, which include the address your request came from and the browser it came from. That is how any website on the internet works. We do not use those records to build a picture of you, and we do not connect them to anything else.
02 · The newsletter
Only if you ask for it.
If you put your address into the signup form, it goes to Kit, the service that sends our emails, and it is used to send you news about the house. That is all it is used for. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you at once and for good.
We do not sell, rent, trade or share the list. If somebody asks us for it, the answer is no.
03 · Giving
We never see your card.
Gifts are handled by PayPal. Your card or account details are entered on their systems and never touch ours. What comes back to us is what we need to thank you and to write your receipt: a name, an email address, a postal address where one is given, and the amount.
Donor names and contact details are never published, sold, traded or shared without written permission. If you would rather give without appearing anywhere at all, say so and that is how it will be.
The same applies to a gift by check. How to give sets out every route.
04 · Films, maps and other people's sites
Nothing loads until you ask.
The films on the restoration page are hosted on YouTube, but nothing is requested from YouTube while you are simply reading. The poster images come from our own domain. Only when you press play does a player load, and it loads from the no cookie version of their service.
Links to a map, to our Facebook page, or to the designer's site are ordinary links. Following one takes you to a company with its own policies, and ours stops at our edge.
05 · What we do not do
The short list.
We do not run analytics of any kind. We do not use advertising or retargeting. We do not sell or trade anything about you. We do not build profiles. We do not email you unless you asked us to, and we do not email you about anything other than this house.
06 · Asking us
Where to write.
Write to latimerhouse@protonmail.com and ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. We will do it, and we will not make you explain why.
